PJ Bautista founded Bear Group in 2026, bringing with him a distinguished career in retail design and construction. Most recently, he served as Director of Retail Design & Construction at JBG Smith, where he was the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-profile retail projects — overseeing the full tenant lifecycle from base-building design and lease negotiation through construction and closeout.

Prior to transitioning into real estate development, PJ spent 13 years as an architectural designer in the Washington, DC area. His multidisciplinary background combines design expertise, financial insight, and construction management experience, allowing him to bridge the gap between vision, budgeting, and execution while delivering successful projects.

Throughout his career, PJ has earned a reputation for delivering projects on time and in alignment with ownership objectives, building lasting trust with stakeholders and tenants alike. His deep-rooted relationships with permitting agencies, general contractors, architects, and consultants are the cornerstone of how Bear Group operates today.
